For those of you not familiar with rfid technology, it is the latest technology used to track inventory for the large retailers. It is like a smart version of the sensors that go off at the door of most department stores. With it a retailer can tell how many pieces of a particular item are in stock, and also where the stock is located. The range for sensing these tags are short but new developements are aiming to change that. So no biggie right? We it would seem that many companies are trying to use this technology along with GPS for tracking and survelliance of people as well. This has many privacy pundits concerned.
