This way of thinking always seems odd from traditionalists. They only want to restore things back to a time they approve of. “Traditional” is a loaded and tricky word. Why should traditional Catholic music stop with Gregorian chants and baroque music? That is the middle ages. This shows that “Romanism” is a unique form of Christianity that is legitimate but far from what the founders of Christianity in the Levant, Asia Minor and Middle East were about. If the pope wants a shift back to traditional shouldn’t be the traditions of Christ Himself? Sounds like they should be singing in Aramaic or Greek to say the least. This is just another agenda that is there to trick those who won’t do the research into believing that the church will get back on track. How about cleaning up the priesthood, returning stolen artifacts to their rightful places around the world, apologizing to any and every family for priestly abuses, and making a real push to heal the legacy of the churche’s role in the Trans-atlantic African Slave trade?
