This guy. Bernake is a reactionary not a visionary. HE should have already requested a special meeting with the president and congressional leaders to come up with a plan to deal with the issues at hand and to secure the economic future of the country. A country that is dependent on its citizens getting in debt and its future generations being crushed with by fiscal deficit to float itself in the near term may lose the right to call itself a superpower. A superpower of what? Servitude to foreign interests? Military prowess? (Ya need money to wage war). Or illusion? Sold out lock stock and barrel. This is nothing new, and foreign investment is not necessarily bad. But to this degree it may become our Achilles heal. It is not easy to tell your creditor to do anything much open their markets, implore greater freedom and justice to it’s citizens etc. It is antithetical to pushing a world democratization agenda which I thought was the main goal of this administration. I think this article is fascinating. I do believe that people only want to pay for the songs they like ala carte. This allows the average buyer to consume a greater VARIETY of music. They listen to two songs from this artist 1 song from that one etc. I also think that one missing point about the great albums of the past is that there were a cohesive CONCEPT. The individual tracks worked together in a cohesive sort of way not a bunch of tracks grouped together and called an “album”. I think the consumer is not fooled by any of this and so their buying habits reflect their distaste. Click for the full article>>
